Symptoms of eczema in a 4-year-old child

There are different types of pediatric eczema, and different types will have different symptoms. Next, let me introduce the symptoms of three types of pediatric eczema!

Symptoms of eczema seborrheic type in a 4-year-old child

It is common in babies 1-3 months after birth, and the affected area is mainly the face. The affected skin is flushed and covered with yellow greasy scales.

Symptoms of exudative eczema in a 4-year-old child

It is more common in obese babies aged 3-6 months. It starts from the head and face and then spreads to the whole body. Small red papules, blisters and erythema appear on the cheeks. There may be redness, swelling, erosion, exudation and yellow scabs.

Symptoms of dry type eczema in a 4-year-old child

It is more common in babies aged 6-12 months, and the affected areas are mostly on the face, trunk, and both sides of the limbs. It manifests as papules, redness, swelling, scales, and scabs.

How to prevent eczema in 4-year-old children

1. Avoid exposing your baby to substances that may cause allergies.

2. Keep your baby's hands clean and trim their fingernails regularly. Because eczema is very painful and itchy, babies often scratch with their hands, so you should avoid scratching the affected area, as scratching can cause bacterial infection of the skin.

3. Do not use strong alkaline soap or hot water to clean the baby's affected skin, because soap and hot water will wash away the grease on the baby's skin surface, making the skin drier and irritating the skin.

4. Dress your baby in loose cotton clothes to avoid friction between clothes that may aggravate eczema. At the same time, both mother and baby should avoid wearing silk or wool clothes to avoid causing or aggravating allergies.

5. Mothers should not use any hormone ointment on their babies without authorization, because excessive use of such topical drugs will be absorbed by the skin and cause side effects to the baby's body. If necessary, go to the hospital and use the medicine under the guidance of a doctor.
