How to treat pediatric eczema and what are the prevention methods for pediatric eczema

Eczema is a very common disease. Although we all know about eczema, we don’t know some of the treatment methods for this disease. Especially for pediatric eczema, it has a great impact on the health of children and should be treated actively. So how to treat pediatric eczema? The following is a detailed answer for everyone.

If children suffer from eczema, it will appear on the face, limbs, trunk and other parts of the body, which is what we often call rashes. These rashes will cause redness, swelling and itching. This has a great impact on the health and daily life of children, so they need timely medical treatment.

1. Diet management : It is best to find and avoid allergens. For example, children with milk protein allergy should switch to amino acid formula powder or deep hydrolyzed protein formula powder.

2. Local treatment : It is the main means of treating infantile eczema. Appropriate drug treatment should be selected according to the stage of eczema. In the acute stage, redness, swelling and papules are the main symptoms. When there is no exudation, it is recommended to use calamine lotion, calamine furazolidone lotion, glucocorticoid cream or gel; when there is a lot of exudation, boric acid solution or furazolidone solution should be selected for cold wet compresses, and zinc oxide oil can be used after wet compresses. In the subacute stage, it is recommended to wash with boric acid solution or saline, apply zinc oxide paste and glucocorticoid cream. For chronic skin lesions, it is recommended to use non-hormonal ointment and glucocorticoid ointment alternately.

3. Systemic treatment : (1) Oral antihistamines; (2) Systemic corticosteroids; (3) Antibiotics.

4. Treatment with Chinese medicine : Choose external medicine according to the stage of eczema and the dryness and wetness. In the acute stage, grind Cnidium monnieri into fine powder and add Vaseline to make a paste for external application, or boil Folium Isatidis in water and filter the residue for wet application. In the chronic stage, grind Evodia rutaecarpa into fine powder and add Vaseline to make an ointment for external application.

5. Physical therapy : Ultraviolet radiation therapy can be used for chronic and stubborn eczema.

Preventive Care

1. The child should take a bath every day to keep the skin clean and moist, but the water temperature should not be too high. Try to use less chemical bath products and avoid using strong irritating external medications. If the scab is thick, it is advisable to moisten it with disinfectant sesame oil first, then wipe off the scab, and never peel it off hard.

2. Try to avoid scratching and friction. Wear loose and not too thick clothes. Wear cotton clothes and avoid contact with wool and chemical fiber clothes.

3. For breastfeeding mothers, they should avoid eating spicy, hot, fishy, beef, mutton and other irritating foods; children should avoid adding shrimp, crab, fish and other allergenic foods.

The above is an introduction to the treatment of pediatric eczema. The potential harm of such diseases has always been quite serious, so after the occurrence of skin diseases such as eczema, it is necessary to choose the appropriate method to treat it.
