Is it easy to cure pneumonia in children?

Neonatal pneumonia is the most common respiratory disease for children between the ages of zero and three. Parents should help observe the symptoms of the disease and distinguish neonatal pneumonia from common colds and fevers. It is very important to treat this disease. Now let our experts help everyone understand these treatment knowledge.

1. Oxygen supply

In case of hypoxemia, nasal cannula, mask, head cover and nasal plug CPAP can be used to give oxygen. In case of respiratory failure, mechanical ventilation can be performed to maintain arterial blood PaO2 at 6.6510.7kPa (5080mmHg)

II. Airway Management

Experts say that in the treatment of neonatal pneumonia, attention should be paid to the child's nebulizer inhalation, postural drainage, regular turning over, patting the back, and timely suction of oral and nasal secretions to keep the airway open.

3. Anti-pathogen treatment

For bacterial pneumonia, antibiotics can be selected in the same way as for sepsis. For Listeria pneumonia, ampicillin can be used, for Chlamydia pneumonia, erythromycin is the first choice, for herpes simplex virus pneumonia, acyclovir can be used, and for cytomegalovirus pneumonia, ganciclovir can be used.

4. Supportive Therapy

Correct circulatory disorders and water, electrolyte and acid-base imbalances. The total daily infusion volume is 60-100 ml/kg. The infusion rate should be slow to avoid heart failure and pulmonary edema. Ensure adequate energy and nutrition supply. As appropriate, intravenous infusion of plasma, albumin and immunoglobulin should be performed to enhance the body's immune function.

After neonatal pneumonia occurs, if you want your baby to recover in time, you must treat your baby's condition as soon as possible.
