Icteric hepatitis may be caused by virus infection. For example, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, and hepatitis E viruses may all cause icteric hepatitis. If the bilirubin level is within 10 times the upper limit of normal and there is no obvious progression, it is usually not serious; if the bilirubin level is greater than 10 times the upper limit of normal or the digestive tract symptoms are severe, it means that the condition is more serious. Icteric hepatitis refers to liver damage caused by various reasons, with jaundice as the main manifestation. By checking liver function, it can be found that in addition to the increase in transaminase, bilirubin is also significantly increased. Patients may have clinical manifestations such as yellow eyes, yellow urine, yellow skin, and yellow sclera. Infection with hepatitis A virus, hepatitis B virus, and hepatitis E virus may cause icteric hepatitis. The severity of such patients is mainly judged based on the degree of bilirubin elevation and the patient's gastrointestinal symptoms. If the bilirubin elevation is within 10 times the normal upper limit, and the patient's gastrointestinal symptoms are not severe, and the disease has not progressed significantly, such patients are not seriously ill and can be improved through active jaundice and liver protection treatment. If the patient's condition progressively worsens, the bilirubin rises rapidly to more than 10 times the normal upper limit, and the digestive symptoms are also severe, and there is a coagulation dysfunction, this type of patient is considered serious and needs to go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time. |
