1. The early stage of mumps infection: During this period, mumps has just begun to attack, the parotid glands are obviously swollen, accompanied by pain and difficulty swallowing. Therefore, the diet should be mainly semi-liquid diet or softer food. Try to eat some easily digestible food, such as millet porridge, rice porridge, etc., and avoid too high food temperature.

The diet can be changed to soft food, and avoid eating sour and spicy foods, such as lemons, bayberries, yogurt, etc. Avoid eating hard foods that need to be chewed, such as nuts, candies, etc. Remember to rinse your mouth after meals, brush your teeth before going to bed, and keep your mouth clean.

During this period, you can gradually resume a normal diet and eat some acidic foods appropriately, such as yogurt, bayberry, etc., which can stimulate the secretion of saliva, enhance the local flushing and cleaning effect, and avoid blockage of the parotid duct.
