Neonatal jaundice is increasing

Neonatal jaundice may be related to physiological jaundice, hepatitis, neonatal hemolytic disease, etc. Parents should take their newborns to see a doctor as soon as possible.

1. Physiological factors

1. Physiological jaundice: When the liver cells of newborns have poor ability to process bilirubin and bilirubin cannot be excreted in time, resulting in production exceeding excretion, neonatal jaundice will occur. Generally, no special treatment is required and it can disappear on its own.

2. Pathological factors

1. Hepatitis: Hepatitis can lead to insufficient bile secretion, resulting in the inability to excrete bilirubin normally and the accumulation of bilirubin concentration in the blood. Symptoms can be relieved by medication, such as betamethasone sodium phosphate injection, prednisolone injection and other drugs, which promote bile secretion and accelerate the disappearance of jaundice.

2. Hemolytic disease of the newborn: excessive production of bilirubin and increased enterohepatic circulation will increase the bilirubin level in the blood. It can be treated through phototherapy, blood exchange therapy, etc.

It may also be related to polycythemia. Medication should be taken under the guidance of a doctor. Parents should pay more attention to observe the changes in the condition of the newborn. If jaundice does not improve, it should be reported to the doctor in time to change the treatment method.
