How to check for mumps accurately?

Many friends will have symptoms of mumps, which brings pain to patients after the onset of the disease and affects the health of their parotid glands. To deal with mumps, relevant examinations are required. This is some knowledge that friends must know more about. Here, let us know how to check mumps accurately?

1. Endoscopic examination: endoscopic ulcers can be divided into three stages:

① Active stage: The base of the ulcer is covered with thick white or yellowish-white fur, and the surrounding mucosa is congested and edematous (a1), or the congestion and edema of the surrounding mucosa begin to subside, and a red halo formed by regenerated epithelium appears around it (a2).

② Healing stage: The ulcer shrinks and becomes shallower, the coating becomes thinner, the red halo formed by the regenerated epithelium surrounds the ulcer, and the mucosal folds are concentrated toward the ulcer (h1), or the ulcer surface is almost covered by the regenerated epithelium, and the mucosal folds are more concentrated toward the ulcer (h2).

③ Scar stage: The white coating at the base of the ulcer disappears, and a red scar appears (s1), which eventually turns into a white scar (s2).

2. X-ray barium meal examination can show direct signs such as niche shadows and concentrated mucosal folds. Indirect signs such as simple spasm and irritability can also be seen.

3. Other X-ray signs of mumps: ① finger-like notch on the greater curvature of the parotid gland; ② shortening of the lesser curvature of the parotid gland; ③ widening of the parotid angular notch; ④ pyloric duct stenosis and obstruction, and fluid retention in the parotid gland.
