What are the examination items for mumps

Many people have had similar experiences, that is, feeling discomfort in the parotid glands and suspecting that they have mumps, but are not sure. At this time, experts recommend that it is best to go to the hospital for a check-up to confirm. During the examination, you can use the precise examination instrument to determine whether you have mumps and then receive treatment.

1. Parotidoscope plus biopsy has good accuracy and sensitivity, and a high diagnosis rate. Electronic fiber parotidoscope can accurately understand the size, location, bleeding, penetration, active or dormant period of parotitis. According to the pathological morphology of the ulcer, it can be roughly understood whether it is benign or malignant. With the addition of pathological biopsy, it can be more clearly known whether it is benign or malignant. At the same time, parotidoscope can also be combined with Helicobacter pylori detection to understand whether there is Helicobacter pylori infection. Parotidoscope can perform certain treatments, such as local hemostasis under the microscope.

2. Barium meal examination is simple and easy, with little pain. The gross morphology of the parotid gland can be used to understand the peristalsis of the parotid gland and whether it is a parotid gland. At the same time, changes in the niche and mucosa can be used to distinguish between benign and malignant. Benign ulcer niches are mostly located outside the parotid gland wall, and the surrounding mucosa is concentrated radially. Barium meal can also be used to understand whether the duodenum and pylorus are deformed, narrowed, or obstructed. However, barium meal has a certain false negative rate.

3. CT examination is not the first choice or routine examination for this disease, but it still has certain significance in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of ulcerative diseases. The CT manifestation of mumps is a combination of ulcers, parotid wall edema and scar changes.

The CT appearance of the parotid wall defect formed by ulcer varies greatly depending on the parotid wall edema. When there is no parotid wall edema and scar, the ulcer only appears as a disc-shaped depression in the parotid wall on the cross-sectional view, and the surrounding parotid wall thickening is not obvious. If you don't observe carefully, it is easy to miss the lesion. When the parotid wall edema and scar changes are obvious, CT is easier to find the lesion.

Against the backdrop of edema and thickened parotid wall, the surface of the ulcer is a deep defect concave into the parotid wall. Depending on the contrast agent used in the parotid cavity, low-density or high-density contrast agent shadows can be seen in the parotid wall, and the parotid wall is not thickened on the periphery; when the submucosal edema is obvious, it appears as a low-density band that ends at the edge of the ulcer. Enhanced scanning shows that the mucosal layer with the same strength as the surrounding normal parotid wall mucosa is interrupted at the edge of the ulcer, and the surrounding parotid wall shows stratification, which is of great value in distinguishing from parotid cancer.

Experts remind us that when you feel discomfort in your parotid gland, you must go to the hospital for examination in time to know whether it is mumps. Mumps disease cannot be delayed. Patients should not take medicine on their own when they feel uncomfortable. They should also treat it with a normal heart during treatment. This way, it can be cured slowly.
