Treatment for diarrhea in children

Treatment for diarrhea in children

The incidence of pediatric diarrhea is second only to respiratory tract infection. It causes high fever, cough, runny nose and other symptoms in babies, causing great harm to the baby's body. Since many parents do not know much about pediatric diarrhea, they are at a loss and blindly treat it, which makes the condition worse and endangers the baby's life. Therefore, when treating pediatric diarrhea, you must go to a professional hospital for scientific treatment, so that the baby can recover better.

There are many medicines for children's diarrhea, which can be roughly divided into four categories: antibiotics, mucosal protectants, microecological regulators, and traditional Chinese medicine.

Intestinal mucosal protective agent

This type of medicine can cover the intestinal mucosa, absorb pathogens and toxins, enhance the barrier function of the intestinal mucosa, and prevent the attack of pathogenic microorganisms. When taking this type of medicine, you need to pay attention to its usage. First, you should take it on an empty stomach, and second, you should emphasize the proportion of mixing with water. Empty stomach does not mean before meals, but it is best to take it between meals. How to mix with water? Please be sure to read the drug instructions carefully. If these two points are achieved, it will greatly reduce the baby's diarrhea symptoms and shorten the course of the disease.

Probiotics

Commonly used ones include Zhengchangsheng, Bifikang, Mommy Love, Lizhu Changle, Jinshuangqi, Cujisheng, and Lactase, which can protect and maintain the existence of normal intestinal flora and restore intestinal function. Note that these drugs cannot be taken at the same time as antibiotics.

Antibiotics

This type of medicine is mainly for bacterial enteritis. There are many varieties. When choosing medicine, doctors often base their choices on the clinical characteristics and major examination results of the sick baby. And combine the child's medication history and allergy history. This type of medicine has prominent problems in clinical practice, and there are many abuses: for example, parents are anxious and increase the dosage without authorization. If one medicine doesn't work, add another one. Blind combination of drugs: the medicine prescribed by the doctor doesn't work, and parents go to the pharmacy to buy advertised medicines or medicines recommended by others, resulting in repeated use. This type of medicine must be taken for 5-7 days before stopping. However, parents use the medicine irregularly, taking it from time to time, and the children become experimental subjects. These practices are all abuse of antibiotics. The most serious consequence is further disorder of intestinal flora, massive reproduction of drug-resistant bacteria, and enteritis that is difficult to control with drugs, that is, antibiotic-associated diarrhea. Therefore, whether to use antibiotics for non-bacterial enteritis must be followed by the doctor's advice, otherwise there will be many troubles.

Chinese medicine

Parents should not take this type of medicine on their own, but listen to professionals. Parents should mainly find ways to feed their babies. They should avoid stomach medicine after meals that causes vomiting, or force feeding that causes strong rebellion in babies. Try to find some methods that the baby is willing to accept so that smooth medication is possible. In terms of drug dosage form, it is better to administer the medicine by sticking it on the navel. It is very effective for non-infectious diarrhea in babies, such as diarrhea caused by cold and indigestion.

The above is an introduction to the treatment of pediatric diarrhea, I hope it will be helpful to everyone. The incidence of pediatric diarrhea is very high, which seriously threatens the health of the baby, so parents must pay more attention to preventive preparations and try to avoid the occurrence of the disease.
