What to do if your child coughs

Young children are prone to coughing because of their low immunity. Parents will be very worried when their babies cough. They dare not use medicine or treat it at will. Therefore, if necessary, it is better to prevent it in advance. When a child coughs, we first need to clarify the cause of the child's cough. After knowing the cause, we can solve it. So, what should we do if a child coughs?

1. Coughs caused by different reasons
If the cough is caused by allergic factors, anti-allergic treatment can be carried out. If it is caused by infectious factors, then the most common one is cold caused by respiratory tract infection. During treatment, you can pay more attention to taking warming measures. Secondly, you can let the baby rest more, drink more warm water, and try not to make the baby too tired. If the child's cough is too severe, it can be treated with medication.

2. Drink small amounts frequently
No matter what causes the cough, you need to let your baby drink water actively. Do not let your baby drink water after he feels thirsty. If you give your baby enough water, the baby's sticky secretions can be diluted, so that it is easy to cough out. Another point is that drinking more water can promote blood circulation and allow the body's metabolic waste or toxins to be excreted from the body. In this way, the irritation to the respiratory tract is reduced.
3. Eat a light diet
Babies with coughs must be careful not to eat greasy food. Babies with coughs should eat more fruits and vegetables, and can take a small amount of lean meat or eggs. However, when coughing due to lung heat, it is best not to eat oranges and some sour foods. Because these foods are not good for expectoration.

4. Keep the indoor air fresh
The baby's environment must be well ventilated and the indoor temperature must be appropriate. This will help keep the respiratory tract moist and help discharge phlegm.
