What is the diagnosis basis for pneumonia in children?

What is the diagnosis basis for pneumonia in children?

Neonatal pneumonia is a particularly common disease. The occurrence of this disease poses a great threat to the child's physical health and needs to arouse our attention. We must pay attention to it in life and learn more about related knowledge. Let us take a look at the basis for the diagnosis of pediatric pneumonia.

1. Bronchitis

Systemic symptoms are mild, generally without dyspnea or hypoxia. Lung rales are not fixed and often disappear with coughing or changes in body position.

2. Bronchial foreign body

There is often a history of foreign body aspiration or choking. Tracheal slapping sounds heard during auscultation can help with the diagnosis, but the diagnosis is confirmed by fiberoptic bronchoscopy.

3. Caseous pneumonia

X-ray examination can show dense consolidation in a lung segment or even a large part of a lung lobe. The outline becomes blurred, and usually brighter liquefied areas or even translucent cavities can be seen.

4. Bronchiolitis

The main symptom is wheezing and shortness of breath. Widespread wheezing and fine moist rales can be heard in both lungs. Severely ill children have obvious hypoxia, and X-rays only show increased translucency in both lungs, descent of the diaphragm, and transient emphysema changes. A few children have a few spotty shadows.

5. Acute miliary tuberculosis

It is very similar to bronchopneumonia and should be differentiated based on history of contact with tuberculosis, clinical symptoms, increased erythrocyte sedimentation rate, positive tuberculin test, detection of tuberculosis bacteria in sputum or gastric lavage fluid, and X-ray follow-up observation.

After reading the above introduction to the identification methods of neonatal pneumonia, I believe everyone has a deeper understanding of this. We must pay attention to it and not underestimate the harm of the disease. We should do more preventive work in our daily lives, pay attention to the hygiene of children, and wash and change clothes regularly.
