How to identify mumps

How to identify mumps

How to confirm that you have mumps?

1. Mumps can usually be identified through symptoms and related examinations.

2. Mumps is an acute self-limiting respiratory infectious disease caused by viral infection. It can generally manifest as swelling and pain of the parotid glands on one or both sides. Some patients may also experience headaches, loss of appetite, and high fever. A body temperature of 38 to 40°C also needs to be improved. Related examinations, such as serum and urine amylase tests, mumps virus RNA tests, and virus isolation tests are also needed to assist in further diagnosis. After diagnosis, drug treatment is required under the guidance of a doctor, such as ribavirin, ibuprofen sustained-release capsules, acetaminophen tablets, etc. Mumps is contagious to a certain extent. Isolation measures should be taken after diagnosis to avoid transmission to others. Vaccination is recommended to prevent mumps.

3. Patients are advised to take medicine on time according to the doctor's advice, get more rest, get enough sleep, avoid staying up late and overwork, maintain a happy and stable mood, and avoid excessive tension and stress. Patients should also do appropriate physical exercise to improve their physical fitness and help recover from the disease, but remember not to do strenuous exercise. Patients should pay attention to a healthy and scientific diet, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, eat a light diet, and avoid spicy and irritating foods.

4. If the patient experiences any discomfort, it is recommended to seek medical attention in time to avoid affecting physical health.
