The best way to prevent pneumonia in children

Speaking of the best measures to prevent childhood pneumonia? You may not know much about this issue. Parents are most worried about their children suffering from pneumonia. We should learn some knowledge about preventing neonatal pneumonia. If children are accidentally infected with pneumonia, it will have a great impact on their bodies. So let us continue to learn about the knowledge of preventing neonatal pneumonia.

The infection routes and clinical manifestations of neonatal pneumonia are different from those of older children. For example, neonatal pneumonia may be caused by the mother's illness before delivery, and the pathogens may invade the fetal blood circulation through the placenta and cause infection; it may also be caused by inhalation of contaminated amniotic fluid during premature rupture of the amniotic membrane or fetal asphyxia. Postnatal infection is mostly caused by improper care, cold, cross-infection, etc., and its main causes are bacterial and viral infections.

Therefore, once parents find that their newborns have the above symptoms, they should think of the possibility of pneumonia and take their children to the hospital immediately. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, effective antibiotics should be used for treatment according to different pathogens. The key to preventing neonatal pneumonia is to do the following:

Breastfeeding is encouraged. Breast milk, especially colostrum, contains a large amount of secretory immunoglobulin A, which can protect the respiratory mucosa from the invasion of pathogens and achieve the purpose of disease prevention.

Take good care of pregnant women and prevent and treat intrauterine infection. If the mother is infected and the newborn baby is likely to suffer from pneumonia during emergency delivery, antibiotics can be considered for prevention.

In addition, at home, the bedroom should be ventilated frequently by opening windows, and disinfected regularly if conditions permit. Visits from relatives and friends should be minimized, especially those with infectious diseases such as colds should not come into contact with newborns. Family members who come into contact with newborns should wash their hands carefully, keep the umbilical cord clean and dry, and avoid contamination to prevent neonatal pneumonia.

The above article tells us that breastfeeding can prevent neonatal pneumonia. We should all understand this knowledge. So, we should provide our children with a good living environment in normal times, pay more attention to hygiene in all aspects, and make our children get sick less. This is our responsibility as parents.
