Every parent hopes that their children can grow up healthy and happy. Although illness is inevitable, as long as parents pay attention to their daily living habits and take good care of their children, the incidence of illness will be greatly reduced. Pediatric diarrhea is a common disease in children. How to prevent it? (1) Breastfeeding should be encouraged, especially during the first 4 to 6 months after birth and during the first summer. Continuing feeding in summer should be avoided. (2) When feeding artificially, pay attention to food hygiene and water cleanliness. Wash the tableware with boiling water before each feeding and boil and disinfect it once a day. (3) Complementary foods should be added on time for both breastfeeding and bottle-feeding, and it is best not to add several complementary foods at the same time. (4) In case of loss of appetite or in the early stages of fever, the intake of milk and other foods should be reduced and replaced with water. It is best to take oral rehydration salts as a drink. (5) Avoid overeating or eating fatty foods during the hot summer. Babies have poor body temperature regulation, so they should wear less clothes in the summer and pay attention to room ventilation. (6) Patients suffering from malnutrition, rickets or extraintestinal infection should receive prompt treatment to prevent complications of diarrhea. (7) Infectious diarrhea, especially those caused by E. coli, Typhimurium or other Salmonella and rotavirus, are highly contagious and can easily spread widely in the ward. Severe disinfection and isolation are necessary, otherwise cross infection can easily occur in the pediatric ward. The best disinfection method is fumigation with peracetic acid, followed by disinfection with a freshly disinfected surface and then ultraviolet irradiation. It is best to thoroughly disinfect the ward with diarrheal cases with peracetic acid fumigation every month. (8) Children who play outdoors should wash their hands before meals and after using the toilet. (9) Medical personnel should work hard to publicize preventive measures for pediatric diarrhea to avoid recurrence of diarrhea. Through the above understanding, we know that to prevent pediatric diarrhea, we must start with the details, develop good living habits, eliminate all risk factors for children, and apply the above preventive measures to our lives. Only in this way can we effectively prevent the occurrence of the disease. |
