Diarrhea Syndrome Recipe for Children

Diarrhea Syndrome Recipe for Children

There are many types of diarrhea, and different types have different causes and different dietary conditioning methods. Babies with different physiques have different chances of getting sick. Parents do not understand this. The following editor will introduce the TCM classification and dietary conditioning of pediatric diarrhea. I hope it will be helpful to mothers.

Children have delicate spleen and stomach, their morphology and physiological functions are not fully developed, and they grow and develop quickly, so they have a large demand for food and nutrition. If parents do not pay attention to cultivating good eating habits for their children, it is easy to cause diarrhea in children. Diarrhea in children has a great impact on their health. On the one hand, nutrients cannot be absorbed, and on the other hand, the disease continues to consume the body's nutrients. Long-term chronic diarrhea can easily cause children to not gain weight or lose weight, and they will have symptoms such as underweight, dry and yellow hair, and haggard appearance.

Adjusting the diet for children with diarrhea is also very important, and its significance is no less than drug treatment. A good diet adjustment is conducive to relieving diarrhea symptoms or stopping diarrhea, promoting the spleen, gastrointestinal tract to return to normal physiological state as soon as possible, and is conducive to the body's faster recovery; if the adjustment is not good or no attention is paid to the diet adjustment, it may aggravate the diarrhea symptoms, make the drug treatment ineffective, prolong the course of the disease, and thus harm the child's health. The clinical effect of guiding dietary adjustment from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine is better. Traditional Chinese medicine divides pediatric diarrhea into five types: diarrhea caused by food damage, diarrhea caused by damp heat, diarrhea caused by wind and cold, and diarrhea caused by spleen and stomach yang deficiency. The latter three types can be collectively referred to as diarrhea caused by deficiency and cold because they all have symptoms of deficiency and cold.

Indigestion and diarrhea

Injury diarrhea is mainly caused by overeating, which can cause indigestion in children. It manifests as sour and smelly stools, abdominal pain, diarrhea when painful, pain reduction after diarrhea, and stools that are protein-like or contain milk curds or undigested food residues. This type of diarrhea must control diet. Mild cases can reduce the frequency, quantity, and quality of diet, and light and nutritious food is better; severe cases require fasting for 6 to 8 hours. When the child does not want to eat, do not force him to eat, but you can feed him water. Even if you resume your diet, you should start with small amounts of liquid or semi-liquid food. For example, first give lotus root powder, rice noodles, and porridge, and then gradually transition to soft food and ordinary food after the gastrointestinal tract adapts. Difficult to digest foods such as fried, greasy food, glutinous food, and high-protein food should not be included in the child's diet during illness. In addition, some foods that can promote digestion can be appropriately given to children, such as boiling water with hawthorn, boiling soup with radish, or frying the food that the child is injured with, and then grinding it into powder for the child to eat, which can also help digestion.

Damp-heat diarrhea

It is mainly caused by dampness and heat in the child's body. The main symptoms are dark yellow and smelly stool or mucus, urgent diarrhea, or fever, abdominal pain, red and swollen anus in children, or burning pain and discomfort in anus in older children. Avoid irritating foods (such as peppers, beverages), dairy foods (including milk, dairy products) and foods that promote dampness and heat (such as greasy foods, raw and cold fruits, chocolate, etc.). Foods that are beneficial to clearing heat and removing dampness can be used to assist treatment, such as cooking porridge with coix seeds, cooking soup with mung beans, and boiling water with fresh kudzu root for children.

Wind-cold diarrhea

The main symptoms of children with wind-cold diarrhea are clear, thin stools, yellow or green or foamy stools, intestinal rumbling and abdominal pain. This disease is mostly caused by the abdomen being exposed to cold or being blown by the wind after eating, or eating too much raw and cold food, or the food being too cold. Therefore, the diet should be warm. Warm has two meanings: one is that the property of food is warm, such as beef, chicken, and eel are better when choosing meat, and cold food should be avoided; the other is that the food should be eaten at a warm temperature and not cold. In addition, difficult-to-digest food is also forbidden.

Deficiency and cold diarrhea

The cause of cold diarrhea is mostly spleen deficiency or spleen and kidney yang deficiency, which causes the child's digestive ability to decrease. The main symptoms of the child are diarrhea after eating, loose stools with more food residues, sallow or pale complexion, fear of cold, and diarrhea that is prone to recurrence or a long course of illness. This type of diarrhea is mostly due to a long illness period, which will weaken the body's internal organs, so avoid eating raw, cold and indigestible foods. Cold foods such as watermelon, winter melon, tofu, and seafood should not be eaten to avoid damaging the body's yang and aggravating the condition; you can often eat some medicinal foods that warm the spleen and stomach, such as boiled chicken with aconite, dog meat soup, mutton porridge, and beef rice with ginger juice, which are all better, but you must pay attention to not putting too much meat, and it should be cooked quite soft to prevent indigestion.

The above is an introduction to the dietary conditioning methods for various types of pediatric diarrhea. I believe everyone has some understanding of this, and I sincerely hope that this article will be helpful to everyone. In addition, parents should exercise their children more and let them do more exercise to enhance their physical fitness, so that children can avoid diseases and live a healthy life.
