How to check for mumps?

How to check for mumps?

Nowadays, both the pace of life and the pace of society are relatively fast. It has become normal for many people to skip breakfast or eat irregularly. In fact, this is irresponsible to their own bodies and can easily cause mumps. So when we feel discomfort in the parotid gland and want to know whether we have mumps, what tests should we do?

1. Endoscopic examination

Endoscopic ulcers can be divided into three stages:

① Active stage: The base of the ulcer is covered with thick white or yellowish-white fur, and the surrounding mucosa is congested and edematous (A1), or the congestion and edema of the surrounding mucosa begin to subside, and a red halo formed by regenerated epithelium appears around it (A2).

② Healing stage: The ulcer shrinks and becomes shallower, the coating becomes thinner, the red halo formed by the regenerated epithelium surrounds the ulcer, and the mucosal folds are concentrated toward the ulcer (H1), or the ulcer surface is almost covered by the regenerated epithelium, and the mucosal folds are more concentrated toward the ulcer (H2).

③ Scar stage: The white coating at the base of the ulcer disappears, and a red scar appears (S1), which eventually turns into a white scar (S2).

2. X-ray barium meal examination

(1) Niche shadow is a direct sign of peptic ulcer. In the tangential view, the niche shadow protrudes from the contour of the inner wall of the parotid gland and is nipple-shaped or semicircular; in the frontal view, the niche shadow is round or oval with smooth and neat edges.

(2) At the tangential position of the mucosal lines around the niche, a transparent thin line of 1 to 2 mm is shown at the junction of the niche and the parotid gland, which can be seen at the upper or lower edge of the niche, or the entire edge of the niche.

If you feel discomfort in the parotid gland, please do not ignore it, because it can easily lead to mumps. Once you suspect that you have mumps, you should do the above examinations. This way, you can get good results by taking medication after the diagnosis. If you take medication without making a judgment, it is easy to cause misdiagnosis and delay the disease.
