Treatment of pneumonia in children

Treatment of pneumonia in children

Neonatal pneumonia is also a relatively common disease. Parents should pay attention to this disease. Sometimes, improper care of the children by parents may cause some diseases. If the baby suffers from pneumonia, what are the methods for treating pediatric pneumonia? Let the experts give us a detailed introduction below, hoping to have more understanding.

1. Aspiration pneumonia

The fetus inhales amniotic fluid, meconium or birth canal secretions in the womb or during delivery, or inhales breast milk after birth, which can also cause secondary infection.

The doctor's treatment principles are: remove the inhaled material as quickly as possible, give oxygen, keep warm, correct acidosis, apply antibiotics and treat symptoms.

2. Infectious pneumonia

Prenatal infection (in the mother's body) is often caused by Escherichia coli, anaerobic bacteria, hemolytic streptococci and viruses (cytomegalovirus, herpes virus). Infection during delivery or after delivery is often caused by Staphylococcus, Escherichia coli, Chlamydia, hemolytic streptococci to the respiratory tract, etc. Staphylococcus is the most common infection after birth.

Doctors' treatment principles: control infection, use antibiotics early and reasonably, such as enzyme-resistant penicillin and first-generation cephalosporin for Staphylococcus aureus pneumonia, and third-generation cephalosporin for enteric pneumonia. Keep the respiratory tract open, pay attention to warmth, proper feeding and oxygen therapy.

3. Mother’s cooperation

Turn your baby over regularly: this can prevent the accumulation of secretions in the lungs and improve lung expansion in compressed areas.

4. Closely monitor your baby’s condition

If your baby becomes irritable, has a rapid heart rate, or shortness of breath, you should tell your doctor as soon as possible. If the liver is rapidly enlarged, it may indicate heart failure. The doctor will give oxygen, control the amount and speed of fluid replacement, and use cardiotonic drugs.

The above article introduces how to treat neonatal pneumonia. It is hoped that during the treatment of the child, parents must actively cooperate with the doctor, and at the same time do a good job of caring for the child, pay more attention to hygiene in all aspects, keep the room ventilated, and provide the baby with a good living environment, so that the baby can recover better.
