What is the standard for complete cure of acute laryngitis in children?

Acute laryngitis in children often occurs in winter and spring, secondary to upper respiratory tract infection and caused by colds. Since its initial symptoms are similar to those of colds and it is easy to relapse after being cured, it is often mistaken that children with acute laryngitis have not been cured if they catch a cold again after acute laryngitis is cured. Let's learn about the standard for complete cure of acute laryngitis in children.

First of all, we need to be clear that the clinical manifestations of acute laryngitis in children are cough, hoarseness, a barking-like cough, inspiratory laryngitis, inspiratory dyspnea, and may be accompanied by fever.

Symptoms can be divided into four degrees according to severity:

Once: This is relatively mild. Children with acute laryngitis are the same as normal children when they are quiet. As long as they survive, they will have symptoms of inspiratory horror and inspiratory dyspnea, but their heart rate is normal and their breath sounds are clear.

Second degree: Laryngeal stridor and inspiratory dyspnea occur even at rest. Laryngeal conducted sounds or tubular breath sounds can be heard on auscultation. The heart rate is relatively fast, reaching 120-140 beats/minute.

Third degree: In addition to the symptoms of the second degree, there are also paroxysmal irritability and restlessness, cyanosis of the lips and nails, blue or paleness around the mouth, weakened or inaudible breath sounds in both lungs, dull heart sounds, and a heart rate of 140-160 beats per minute; Fourth degree: Restlessness turns into semi-coma or coma, with temporary quietness, gray complexion, two types of breath sounds almost disappear on auscultation, only tracheal conduction sounds, weak heart sounds, and irregular or fast or slow heartbeat.

The cure standard is that the body temperature is normal and all the above symptoms and signs of laryngitis disappear.
