How to use folk remedies to stop diarrhea in children? Diarrhea in children is mostly caused by these two reasons

We all hope that children can grow up healthily, but in the process of growing up, children will encounter the threat of some diseases. Childhood diarrhea is one of the common diseases, so how to treat childhood diarrhea? What are the folk remedies for treating childhood diarrhea?

There are two reasons why children have diarrhea:

First, children’s spleen and stomach functions are inherently weak. If they eat too much raw, cold, or greasy food, it will cause a great burden on the gastrointestinal tract, damage the spleen and stomach, and cause diarrhea.

Second, some babies have poor physical constitution, weak spleen and stomach, and weak internal organs. They are easily affected by wind, cold, heat, summer heat and humidity when the weather changes, which can cause diarrhea.

Folk remedies for treating diarrhea in children

1. Peel the garlic, cut off the head and tail, then peel off the thin skin on the outside of the garlic cloves. After defecation, take a sitz bath with warm water to wash your buttocks. Then insert the peeled garlic into the child's rectum. The deeper the garlic is inserted into the rectum, the better the treatment effect will be. Generally speaking, the stool will be formed five or six hours after the garlic is inserted into the rectum, and the diarrhea will stop. Put one or two cloves each time for two or three days, and the diarrhea will be cured.

2. You can apply white pepper powder and Yunnan Baiyao on the navel, cover it with sterilized cotton gauze, and then seal it with tiger bone musk ointment or analgesic ointment. This method can treat diarrhea in children very well without taking medicine, and the effect is good!

3. Spleen-strengthening and Qi-invigorating method: Long-term diarrhea will lead to weakness. According to the principle of "replenishing the weak", the spleen-strengthening and Qi-invigorating method is often used. Commonly used drugs include fried Atractylodes macrocephala, Chinese yam, Poria cocos, fried lentils, Euryale ferox, lotus seeds, Codonopsis pilosula, Astragalus membranaceus, roasted licorice, etc.

4. Diuresis and Dampness-Removing Method: "When dampness prevails, diarrhea will occur." Traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes regulating the middle and dispersing the dampness in the treatment of diarrhea, and often uses diuresis and dampness-removing methods. Commonly used diuresis and dampness-removing drugs include Poria, Polyporus, Alisma, Plantago, etc.

Dietary remedies for treating diarrhea:

1. Rice ginger tea:

15 grams of tea, 10 grams of ginger, 7 dates, and 30 grams of glutinous rice, cook them together into porridge and eat.

Apple contains tannic acid, which has antidiarrheal effect. Wash an apple, steam it, eat the flesh or peel it and mash it into puree. Take 30-60 grams each time, 3 times a day. Apple soup is also an auxiliary drink for treating diarrhea. Chop the apple, add 250 ml of water and a small amount of salt, and you can also add 5% sugar, boil it and drink it instead of tea. It is suitable for babies under 1 year old.

5. Chestnut paste meal:

Use 3 to 5 chestnuts, peel and mash them, add water and cook into a paste, add sugar to taste and eat 2 to 3 times a day. It has the effect of warming the middle and stopping diarrhea.
