Diagnosis of diarrhea in children

Diagnosis of diarrhea in children

Diarrhea is a common phenomenon, so everyone is familiar with this disease, but it is different when diarrhea occurs in children. Pediatric diarrhea is a disease that belongs to children and seriously affects the appetite of children. So, how can we identify this disease? Please see the following introduction for details.

Pay attention to distinguish from the following diseases:

1. Physiological diarrhea (physiologicaldiarrhea) The child appears puffy and has frequent, thin, golden-yellow bowel movements shortly after birth, but is not accompanied by vomiting and has normal weight gain.

2. Acute necrotizing enteritis infection and allergic reaction are important factors in the onset of the disease. The disease has five major symptoms: diarrhea, abdominal distension, bloody stool, high fever and vomiting. The stool is initially watery, then turns dark red, jam-like or bloody. The abdominal distension is often severe, and shock, even coma and convulsions may occur in the early stage.

3. Acute bacillary dysentery has a high incidence in summer. Children with the disease often have a history of eating unclean food. The incubation period is 24 to 72 hours. Most patients have an acute onset, high fever, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, tenesmus, and mucus, pus and blood in the stool. The number of bowel movements ranges from several to more than 10 times a day. Toxic bacillary dysentery may present with symptoms such as high fever, convulsions, lethargy or coma, and even shock. The course of the disease varies. Stool culture can confirm the diagnosis.

With the above introduction of diseases that are easily confused with pediatric diarrhea, everyone has a deeper understanding of the disease. Only by quickly identifying them can effective treatment be carried out. For this disease, prevention is the best, because diarrhea is a kind of damage to the stomach and intestines of children.
