What are the types of pneumonia in children?

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that pediatric pneumonia is mainly divided into wind-cold lung blocking type, wind-heat lung blocking type, phlegm-heat lung blocking type, yin deficiency and lung heat type or spleen and lung qi deficiency type, and treatment requires targeted treatment.
Wind-cold blocking the lungs will cause nasal congestion, runny nose, white tongue coating, and chills. Wind-heat blocking the lungs will cause obvious fever, sweating, cough, shortness of breath, high fever, thirst, lethargy, bluish lips, and yellow urine. Phlegm-heat blocking the lungs will cause increased coughing, chest tightness, bluish lips, red face, thirst, etc. Treatment should focus on clearing heat and promoting lung function.
Yin deficiency and lung heat type has symptoms such as low fever and night sweats, red lips and tongue, cough with little sputum or less tongue coating, and should be treated with nourishing yin and clearing the lungs. Spleen and lung qi deficiency type has symptoms such as pale complexion, decreased appetite, constipation or obvious sweating, shortness of breath and fatigue, etc., and treatment should be used to relieve cough and resolve sputum to effectively promote recovery.
