Baby coughs and allergic rhinitis after drinking milk

Baby coughs and allergic rhinitis after drinking milk

If your baby coughs and has allergic rhinitis after eating milk, it may be caused by an allergy to milk protein, or it may be caused by allergic cough, pharyngitis, or reflux esophagitis. In this case, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for treatment in time, and take targeted measures for treatment after the cause is determined.

1. Milk protein allergy: It is a common allergic phenomenon. If the baby is allergic to milk protein, he may have symptoms of coughing after drinking milk, and may also cause skin itching, rashes and other discomfort symptoms. At this time, it is recommended to stop drinking milk in time and take anti-allergic treatment such as loratadine syrup and cetirizine hydrochloride oral solution under the guidance of a doctor;

2. Allergic cough: If the baby is allergic to milk, drinking milk may induce allergic cough symptoms, which are manifested as paroxysmal dry cough, foreign body sensation in the throat, itching in the throat and other discomfort symptoms. At this time, it is recommended to stop drinking milk in time and take montelukast sodium chewable tablets for anti-allergic treatment under the guidance of a doctor. It can also be combined with budesonide suspension for inhalation for nebulization treatment;

3. Pharyngitis: If your baby has pharyngitis, drinking milk may irritate the throat mucosa, aggravate throat swelling, and worsen cough symptoms. At this time, you can use Kaihoujian spray for treatment under the guidance of a doctor. If accompanied by bacterial infection, you can also use amoxicillin granules for anti-infection treatment;

4. Reflux esophagitis: Due to the incomplete development of the baby's gastrointestinal function, drinking milk may increase the pressure in the stomach, causing the contents in the stomach to reflux into the esophagus and irritate the throat, causing coughing symptoms. In this case, the baby can be treated with drugs such as domperidone suspension under the guidance of a doctor.
