How to identify symptoms of pneumonia in infants

Usually, the presence of infant pneumonia can be diagnosed by observing symptoms, signs, and auxiliary examinations.

1. Observe symptoms: If you have coughing, sputum, shortness of breath and other symptoms, it may be caused by bacterial infection. If it is caused by a viral infection, you will have a fever;

2. Physical signs: When wet rales can be heard in the lungs through auscultation, and there is shortness of breath, it is considered that pneumonia is more likely to occur. At the same time, there will be loss of appetite and mental depression. In this state, you need to go to the hospital for treatment in time;

3. Auxiliary examinations: For example, blood routine tests can reveal an increase or decrease in white blood cell count, indicating possible bacterial or viral pneumonia; chest X-rays can show increased and thickened lung textures on both sides, showing ground-glass changes, and in severe cases, large sheet-like shadows. In addition, chest CT scans can be performed to more clearly see the specific conditions of the lesion, which helps doctors better formulate targeted treatment plans.

In daily life, you should take good measures to keep warm and avoid catching a cold, so as not to aggravate the condition. Eat light and easily digestible food, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and replenish the nutrients needed by the body. If you are diagnosed with pneumonia, you should cooperate with the doctor to take symptomatic medication in time, such as amoxicillin granules or cefixime capsules and other antibiotics to control inflammatory reactions.
