What to do with neonatal jaundice?

Jaundice is relatively common. Most of the time it is just physiological jaundice, so there is no need to worry too much. However, some people suffer from pathological jaundice, which should be treated as soon as possible. There are many treatment methods, such as light therapy, drug therapy, sun therapy, or blood therapy. Blood therapy is more suitable for severe hemolysis.

1. Light therapy

If the neonatal jaundice is more severe, blue light irradiation can also be chosen. Under blue light irradiation, the structure of bilirubin will also undergo significant changes, and it can eventually promote excretion through bile, and can be excreted through feces or urine.

2. Exchange blood treatment

When treating neonatal jaundice, exchange transfusion must be chosen as a quick method, but this method is generally not chosen, usually for severe hemolytic disease.

3. Drug treatment

Some jaundice patients can also choose drug treatment, such as traditional Chinese medicine treatment, immunoglobulin treatment, albumin treatment, and probiotic treatment, which can effectively alleviate the disease, but any drug may have side effects. If the baby has no abnormalities, do not choose drugs.

Other treatments

If the jaundice improves significantly, in order to effectively control the condition, other treatments can also be selected, such as correcting acidosis or choosing oxygen supply therapy, which can effectively control the condition.

5. Get more sun

The ultraviolet rays in the sun can promote the excretion of bilirubin. If you just want to turn your skin yellow, you can expose it to the sun through the glass, but don't let the sun shine directly into your eyes to avoid damage. In addition, don't continue to sunbathe. Generally, the sunbathing time should be controlled at about 15 to 20 minutes. After a few minutes of rest, choose to sunbathe for a while. In the process of sunbathing, you should also choose to drink more water.
