Dangers of Kidney Disease in Children

Nowadays, the occurrence of childhood kidney disease has become very common in life. It is also very important to pay attention to the existence of childhood kidney disease, because the harm caused by childhood kidney disease to children is very great. If it is not discovered in time and effective treatment is not received, the consequences may become more serious and more difficult to treat. So what are the dangers of childhood kidney disease?

1. Some children with kidney disease may develop white or purple lines on the thighs, inner side of the upper arms, abdomen and chest, similar to those of pregnant women, and their urine volume is significantly reduced. Due to the long-term loss of a large amount of protein in the urine, the harm of kidney disease in children may show symptoms of protein malnutrition, dry and yellow hair, keratinization of hair follicles, dry skin, white horizontal lines on the nails, developmental delay, anemia and susceptibility to infection. Some children with kidney disease have hematuria and hypertension.

2. The course of kidney disease in children is long and it is very easy to relapse. The greatest danger is secondary infection such as skin erysipelas, intestinal infection, pneumonia, primary peritonitis and sepsis. Any secondary infection can cause death.

3. The reason why this disease is prone to infection is also due to the harm of pediatric kidney disease. This is mainly because of the low humoral immune function, immunoglobulin loss in urine, reduced synthesis, and increased catabolism. Children with kidney disease are often accompanied by insufficient cellular immune function and complement system function, protein malnutrition, edema leading to local circulation disorders, which is one of the hazards of pediatric kidney disease.

4. The hazards of childhood kidney disease include that children with kidney disease are also more sensitive to viral infections, especially when receiving corticosteroids and immunosuppressants. When complications such as chickenpox, measles, and herpes zoster occur, the condition is often more serious than that of ordinary children with kidney disease. For those with a history of contact, the dosage of hormones and immunosuppressants can be temporarily reduced.

5. The harm of childhood kidney disease Infection is the most common complication of childhood kidney disease and the main cause of death. According to statistics, deaths directly or indirectly caused by infection account for 70% of deaths in children with kidney disease. Infection is also often the cause and precursor of recurrence or aggravation of childhood kidney disease and can affect the efficacy of hormones.

Regarding children's kidney disease, I hope parents can pay attention to it, arrange their children's diet reasonably and scientifically, do a good job of preventing diseases, and let their children grow up healthy and happy. If the child already has kidney disease, they must be treated in time, choose a regular and professional hospital, and avoid falling into treatment misunderstandings. I wish the children a speedy recovery.
