What are the symptoms of mycoplasma infection in children?

The most common symptom of mycoplasma infection in children is pneumonia. This is what we usually call mycoplasma pneumonia in children. Although mycoplasma itself is contagious, mycoplasma pneumonia in children is not contagious.

1. Parents should not ignore some minor symptoms of mycoplasma infection in children. If mycoplasma pneumonia is not treated in time, it may cause damage to other organs and tissues in the body, thereby causing more serious physical harm. Knowing the symptoms of the disease in time can help mothers discover their children's mycoplasma pneumonia so that they can get timely treatment.

2. After mycoplasma enters the baby's body, it usually takes about 2-3 weeks for it to cause symptoms. After that, as the condition continues to worsen, symptoms such as headache, chills, and fatigue will appear.

3. The fever of mycoplasma pneumonia is mostly around 39°C. It may be persistent or discontinuous, or just a low-grade fever, or even no fever.

4. Pneumonia can cause coughing in children. It starts as a dry cough, which then turns into coughing up phlegm (sometimes containing a small amount of blood), which is sometimes a bit like whooping cough. In the early stages, babies cough with very little phlegm, which is a dry cough that gradually develops into a persistent, severe cough with a small amount of mucus, especially at night.

The symptoms of mycoplasma infection in children are actually not difficult to find. Although this is a common children's disease, mothers should not be too careless and must take timely treatment to prevent the disease from causing greater harm to the child's body.
