Look for the cause of children's colds from their parents? These folk remedies can relieve cold symptoms

Children's cold is a common disease, which poses a great threat to children's health. Parents are always worried, but do you know what causes this disease? Let's introduce it in detail. What causes children's cold? In response to this question, let's learn more about it.

The main causes of colds in children

Malnutrition:

It is the main cause of recurrent respiratory tract infections. Infants and young children who do not have enough breast milk and do not add necessary complementary foods in time, or who only eat starchy foods for a long time, or who are allergic to protein or have poor intestinal absorption, will suffer from malnutrition due to lack of necessary protein and fat. It may also lead to rickets and deficiency of various trace elements such as iron and zinc, which will reduce the immune function and disease resistance and make it easy to get infected.

Improper treatment:

In cases of recurrent respiratory tract infections, especially bacterial infections, some parents give their children Chinese medicine or antibiotics, but the course of treatment is not adequate. After taking the medicine for 2-3 days, the medicine is stopped as soon as the fever subsides. Although the pathogenic bacteria are temporarily suppressed, they are not completely eliminated. Instead, chronic lesions are formed, such as chronic tonsillitis, chronic pharyngitis, and chronic sinusitis. The bacteria remain dormant for a long time, and once the child is cold, tired, or has low resistance, the disease will recur. However, if antibiotics are abused in children, it will cause bacteria to develop drug resistance, making the infection difficult to control. Therefore, family members should actively cooperate with doctors in treatment and conduct regular treatment.

Predisposing factors:

1. Host defense ability: Children with malnutrition and lack of exercise, as well as those with allergies or immune deficiency or low immune function, have reduced body defense ability and are prone to upper respiratory tract infections with more severe symptoms. Epidemics are more likely to occur in winter and spring when the climate changes more frequently.

2. Environmental factors such as air pollution, crowded living, indirect inhalation of smoke, and passive smoking can reduce the local defense capabilities of the respiratory tract and promote the growth and reproduction of pathogens.

It is also related to improper feeding methods of parents:

Young parents lack knowledge of parenting nutrition. Due to the rapid growth and development of children, those who are fed artificially due to lack of breast milk, as well as those who are too spoiled, picky eaters, and anorexic, are malnourished or unbalanced, which may cause varying degrees of iron deficiency, calcium deficiency, or insufficient intake of vitamins and proteins. Nutrients such as iron, zinc, and protein play an important role in the synthesis of various globulins of the immune system and in promoting the maturation and differentiation of immune cells, affecting the body's resistance. Lack of vitamin A in the body causes the cilia of respiratory epithelial cells to decrease and disappear, the glands to lose their normal function, lysozyme and secreted immune antibodies to significantly decrease, and the barrier function to decline, leading to infection. Insufficient calcium intake can cause rickets in children, resulting in low resistance and susceptibility to viral and bacterial infections. Low calcium can weaken the movement of cilia of respiratory epithelial cells, making it difficult for respiratory secretions to be discharged. These are all causes of colds.
