What to do if your nine-month-old baby coughs and has phlegm

Coughing with phlegm, we can easily associate it with inflammation in the body through our own experience. The same is true for babies. A nine-month-old baby coughs with phlegm, and the symptoms are the same as those of adults, but the same treatment methods cannot be used, because nine-month-old babies do not have the ability to resist diseases and their immunity is still weak. So what should we do if a nine-month-old baby coughs with phlegm?

1. Baby's physical condition
A nine-month-old baby who suddenly coughs and has phlegm, or who keeps coughing and has phlegm after a serious condition, is different. Although both methods result in phlegm, the former requires a physical examination at the hospital, while the latter should be caused by an upper respiratory tract infection. It is a good idea to take different treatments for different symptoms, so if conditions permit, it is better to send the baby to the hospital to prevent it from getting worse.

2. Lifestyle and diet habits
The baby is only nine months old. If you can treat the baby with food and lifestyle instead of medication, you can prevent the baby from some side effects of the medication. So in this case, what should you pay attention to in your baby's life and diet? Drink more hot water and avoid catching a cold. Feed the baby on time and eat small amounts of food frequently.

The diet must be light, and spicy and irritating foods should not be allowed to babies. In life, if the baby has a cough and phlegm, do not take the baby outside to blow the wind to avoid catching a cold and aggravating the condition. Do not take the baby to places with large traffic or places with heavy air pollution. Try to take the baby to a place with fresh air outdoors and bask in the sun, which will help the baby's cough with phlegm.
