We all know that it is difficult for babies to grow in the neonatal period, especially some premature babies, whose development is incomplete and some organs in their bodies are quite weak and cannot function fully. Many factors combined can easily lead to "neonatal jaundice." So how do we treat jaundice? 1. General treatment Jaundice is divided into physiological jaundice and pathological jaundice. For pathological jaundice, we do not need special care for this type of jaundice, and we can feed the child normally, but we need the child to eat more, so that the child will excrete more frequently, thereby reducing the toxins in the body. For pathological jaundice, we need to rely on both drugs and phototherapy to treat it, identify the primary disease that causes jaundice, and treat the primary disease. 2. Get light therapy The most commonly used phototherapy is blue light irradiation therapy, which can effectively promote the decomposition of unconjugated bilirubin and turn it into an easily excreted substance, thereby excreting toxic substances from the body of the baby. Continuous irradiation is usually used to treat jaundice. It is worth noting that we must always monitor the changes in serum bilirubin levels during phototherapy. This treatment method is not very harmful to babies. 3. Drug treatment We can give children some albumin to bind free bilirubin, thereby reducing the level of bilirubin in the blood. If the child's albumin level is normal, it is not recommended to use it. Fever, allergies and other adverse reactions rarely occur when using this drug. Therefore, when giving this drug to children, parents should always accompany their children and pay attention to their changes, so as to avoid failing to deal with the adverse conditions of the children in time. 4. Keep your child’s skin clean When a child develops neonatal jaundice, we must always observe the changes in the child's body, because at the beginning we don't know whether the child is suffering from pathological or physiological jaundice. We always keep the child's body dry, pay attention to bathing the child every day, clean the child's skin, and change the child's clothes frequently to avoid bacterial infection. If possible, we can take the child out to bask in the sun, but it is best to choose the morning sun, because the morning sun is not so strong, and the ultraviolet rays are not so serious, so it will not cause much harm to the child. Most newborns experience jaundice, but as long as the jaundice value is within the normal range, parents should not worry too much. When a child suffers from neonatal jaundice, we do the above four points, give the child general treatment, phototherapy, drug treatment, keep the child's skin clean, and do daily care. But when jaundice is severe, we must seek medical attention in time to avoid secondary damage to the child! |
