Symptoms of mumps

Symptoms of mumps:

Symptoms of mumps generally include swollen parotid glands, local pain, fever, etc.

1. Parotid gland swelling: The parotid gland is the largest salivary gland in the body. Retrograde infection can cause parotitis. The cause of parotitis is mainly related to pathogen infection, such as bacterial infection, viral infection, etc., and is also related to parotid gland hypoplasia. After the onset of the disease, inflammation will repeatedly stimulate the parotid gland area, and then cause one or both sides of the parotid gland to swell.

2. Local swelling and pain: If the parotid area is obviously swollen after mumps, the local skin will become tight and the parotid duct will be blocked. When eating acidic foods, saliva secretion will increase. When saliva discharge is blocked, it will cause local swelling and pain.

3. Fever: If mumps recurs, as the number of pathogens in the body increases, fever factors will be produced in the body, which can act on the temperature regulation center and then cause fever.

If you have mumps, you can use ribavirin granules, dexamethasone acetate tablets, mannitol injection and other drugs to treat it under the guidance of a doctor. If you have a fever, you can also improve it through physical methods such as cold compresses. If the body temperature exceeds 38.5℃, you can use ibuprofen capsules, anti-inflammatory capsules, celecoxib capsules and other drugs for antipyretic treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
