How to reduce high jaundice in newborns

How to reduce high jaundice in newborns

Neonatal jaundice can be reduced through general treatment, blue light irradiation, drug intervention and transfusion therapy.

1. General treatment: Physiological jaundice usually disappears on its own, so no special treatment is needed. Parents should strengthen feeding, promote more excretion and eating of newborns, and get more sun exposure, which can help reduce jaundice.

2. Blue light irradiation: This is an effective treatment method for reducing neonatal jaundice. It can convert bilirubin in the body into water-soluble bilirubin isomers through the oxidation of light, and then excrete it through urine and bile, reducing the level of bilirubin in serum.

3. Drug intervention: According to the actual condition of the newborn, the doctor may help reduce jaundice by using drugs such as Huangdan Yinchen Granules, Yinzhihuang Granules, and Yinzhihuang Oral Liquid.

4. Transfusion therapy: When the bilirubin level of the newborn is high and other treatments are ineffective, the doctor may recommend transfusion therapy, which can effectively lower bilirubin, replace sensitized red blood cells, and alleviate anemia.

The use of drugs must be in accordance with the doctor's instructions, and they should not be used privately. If jaundice continues to worsen or other symptoms occur, you should seek medical attention in time.

Note:

Parents should pay more attention to the care of newborns on a daily basis, and should add more water and keep the skin clean. When exposed to the sun or blue light, pay attention to the protection of eyes and skin and avoid direct sunlight.
