What medicine should children take to prevent hand, foot and mouth disease and get better quickly

Hand, foot and mouth disease is a self-limiting disease. There is currently no specific medicine that can directly treat or prevent it, but symptomatic management and scientific care are very important.

This disease is mainly caused by enterovirus infection and is more common in children under 5 years old. It is transmitted through air droplets, contact with the patient's saliva, feces or contaminated objects. Typical symptoms include fever, oral ulcers, and rashes on the hands, feet, and around the mouth. The course of the disease usually improves naturally within 7 to 10 days, but care should be taken to prevent complications.

For children who have already been infected, the doctor may recommend some measures to relieve symptoms, such as antipyretics to fight high fever, local oral analgesic sprays to help relieve pain, etc. If the child's symptoms are mild, recovery can be promoted by strengthening immune support, such as supplementing vitamin C and drinking more water. Be careful to avoid eating irritating foods, and choose liquids or semi-liquid foods that are easy to swallow to help relieve oral discomfort.

Prevention is key, including washing hands frequently, cleaning children's toys and daily necessities regularly, and avoiding contact with suspected patients. At the same time, if a child has persistent high fever, lethargy or vomiting, he or she should seek medical attention as soon as possible to avoid delaying treatment.
