How to treat a baby's cough?

In daily life, coughing is the most common symptom. Especially when our baby is sick with a cold and coughs, our parents are the most worried. Now most families only have one baby, so they care about the baby very much. Let's find out together, what should we do if the baby coughs up phlegm?

1. Diet: When you have a cough, you should eat a light diet. For babies with long-term coughs, you can boil pears and rock sugar in water to drink. Its main effect is to moisten the lungs and relieve coughs. You can also use fresh lilies to cook porridge. This method is most effective for children who have been coughing for a long time and have weak lungs. Patients with spleen deficiency can eat more yam or lotus seed porridge, barley porridge, and jujube porridge. In normal times, many people think that oranges can relieve coughs and reduce phlegm. In fact, this method is wrong. Orange peel has the effect of relieving coughs and reducing phlegm. Therefore, you cannot only eat orange flesh.

2. Drink hot drinks: This method can make the baby's phlegm thinner, relieve the tension of the respiratory tract, and help the phlegm to be coughed out effectively. It is best to let the baby drink warm water or warm milk, rice soup, or fresh fruit juice. Choose apple juice and pear juice with less irritation. It is best not to drink citrus juice such as orange and grapefruit juice.
3. Hot compress: We usually use a hot water bottle, which is filled with hot water at about 40 degrees, and then wrapped with a towel. Then you can apply it on the baby's back, but be sure not to burn the baby's skin. This method can accelerate the cold and help the baby clear the mucus in the lungs, and the effect is also good. In the hospital, there is a method of fogging treatment, which can also help the discharge of phlegm.

4. Find out the cause and treat it correctly: In general, if it is caused by respiratory bacterial infection, use antiviral drugs for treatment. If the chronic cough lasts for more than two months, it is mostly caused by allergies. This time, the treatment of respiratory allergic inflammation should be taken as the main treatment. At this time, if there is allergic rhinitis, we should use desensitization treatment.
