The difference between infantile hernia and effusion, 2 clinical factors to distinguish infantile hernia and effusion

Infantile hernia and infantile effusion are two completely different diseases with different formation principles and symptoms. The two diseases can be distinguished through transillumination tests and ultrasound examinations, and the treatment method needs to be chosen based on the actual situation.

In life, we may encounter some similar diseases. Most people do not have professional medical knowledge and cannot accurately analyze and judge the differences between different diseases. There may be blindness or incorrect treatment in the treatment. So what is the difference between infant hernia and effusion?
1. Hernia is a reversible mass, the main contents of which include tissues such as the large network, and has the characteristic of retraction. Infant hydrocele mainly refers to the mass of hydrocele, the main contents of which are fluid masses in the abdominal cavity, which have the characteristics of self-healing and good light transmittance, but no retraction. No matter which situation you encounter, you should take your child to the hospital for examination in time. The cause and symptomatic treatment can be determined through light transmittance test or ultrasound examination. If you have just discovered that your child has this condition, you can let the child lie down and see if he can disappear by himself. If he cannot disappear, you need to go to the hospital for treatment immediately, otherwise it is easy to cause intestinal necrosis.
2. Hernias in infants and young children become more serious due to increased abdominal pressure. For example, excessive crying, excessive force to defecate, and severe coughing will cause the intestinal tract, omentum, ovaries, etc. to form a protruding mass through this channel, and then gradually descend into the scrotum. When squeezed, there will be a gurgling feeling, so it is called a hernia. The left testicle descends earlier than the right side, and the processus vaginalis closes longer. It is still more common to have a unilateral testicle than multiple testicles.
Infants and young children can have hydrocele detected by light, and local causes can be determined by ultrasound examination, so everyone should pay more attention to the physical health of infants and young children to avoid missing the best treatment opportunity. Infants and young children can recover from hernias by themselves, but if they have not recovered to normal after the age of two, they need to wait until the age of four to undergo minimally invasive surgery, which takes about two hours. You need to rest as much as possible one month after the operation, and try to avoid strenuous exercise such as jumping. At the same time, you should also insist on using some medications to avoid infection.
