What to do if your baby coughs

What to do if your baby coughs

The organs of a one-month-old baby are not fully developed yet. Once they are invaded by cold, they are more likely to catch a cold and cough. At this time, the condition must be improved as soon as possible, otherwise it may harm the lungs. To improve the cough, you should first drink more water, maintain a light diet, strengthen your physical fitness, and take more medications.

In fact, children’s organs have not yet fully reached the development stage, and even the throat has not developed well, so babies who are just one month old will often have whirring sounds, and their throats will also be accompanied by obvious coughing phenomena. It’s just that everyone is very worried, so it should be improved as soon as possible. So what should we do if a baby who is just one month old has a cough?
1. Drink more water
No matter what kind of cough it is, we should take the initiative to let the baby drink water, and don't wait until he is thirsty to drink water. Babies drink enough water to dilute the sticky secretions, which is easy to cough. At the same time, drinking water can improve blood circulation, so that the waste or toxins produced by the body's metabolism can be quickly discharged from the body, thereby reducing irritation to the respiratory tract.
2. Maintain a light diet
If the baby is breastfed, the mother should also pay special attention to eating more fresh vegetables, a small amount of lean meat or eggs, and try not to eat greasy food, otherwise the baby's cough will become more serious. If the baby's cough is caused by wind-heat, the mother should not eat oranges.
3. Keep the indoor air fresh
Open windows regularly to ventilate the home and keep the indoor air moderate. Although this method is very simple, it can keep the respiratory mucosa moist at all times and promote the discharge of sputum in a short time.
4. Enhance physical fitness
In fact, although the baby is just one month old, it is sometimes appropriate to wash his face with cold water. After a period of training, it can also effectively improve his physical fitness, so when the cold wave comes, it is not easy to have obvious coughing.
5. Taking medications
Children's respiratory systems are not fully developed, so there is no way for them to cough up phlegm smoothly, and it may even cause lung infection. In this case, they should receive treatment as soon as possible. The best way during the treatment is to take medications, but taking medications cannot be done blindly and must be based on actual conditions.
6. Radish and honey water
Directly cut the radish into slices or blocks and add appropriate amount of honey. After marinating for about 1-2 days, add appropriate amount of warm boiled water to brew. Most children can effectively achieve improvement after taking it for 1-2 weeks.
