How to effectively prevent mumps

How to effectively prevent mumps? In life, the harm caused by mumps is very great. If you don't want to suffer from this disease, you must pay attention to it, have a good attitude, and do a good job of prevention in order to avoid the occurrence of the disease. So, how to effectively prevent mumps?

prevention:

Children who become ill will be immune for life.

1. Isolate the patient early until the swelling of the parotid gland subsides completely. Tell children not to have close contact with the sick person.

2. Pay attention to indoor ventilation and keep the air flowing. Disinfect your home. Do not participate in large group activities during the epidemic.

3. Vaccinate measles, rubella, and mumps. Strengthen health knowledge propaganda, educate children to develop good personal hygiene habits, participate in more exercise, and strengthen physical fitness. However, the live attenuated mumps vaccine cannot be used for pregnant women, people with congenital or acquired immunodeficiency, and people who are allergic to egg white.

4. For drug prevention, take decoction of Isatis root or honeysuckle, 1 dose per day for 6 consecutive days.

We can give children preventive injections when they are one and a half years old. In addition, parents should pay attention to the fact that mumps is a viral infection. Most children can recover naturally after one week to 10 days. It is important to pay attention to adequate rest during this period. Replenish water and easily digestible nutrients. It is not advisable to give acidic foods to avoid causing local pain in the parotid gland.

In the care of mumps, you should pay attention to rest, drink plenty of water, and take some Chinese medicine. Because chewing will cause soreness when the swelling occurs, the diet should mainly consist of liquid and semi-liquid foods. Closely observe the child's body temperature and whether any complications occur.

Isolate the patient as soon as possible until the parotid swelling completely subsides. Contacts do not necessarily need to be quarantined, but they should be kept in collective children's institutions (including hospitals, schools), troops, etc. for 3 weeks. Suspected patients should be temporarily isolated immediately.

Mumps live vaccine cannot be used in pregnant women (to prevent the virus from infecting the fetus through the placenta and causing adverse consequences), people with congenital or acquired immunodeficiency, and those who are allergic to egg protein (because the live vaccine is obtained from chicken embryos).

General immunoglobulin, adult blood or placental globulin have no effect in preventing this disease. The blood of patients in the recovery period and their immunoglobulin or specific high-priced immunoglobulin may be useful, but the source is difficult to obtain, and the protection time after use is short, only 2 to 3 weeks, so it is not used much, and its effect needs further study.

The above introduces the main prevention methods for mumps. I hope everyone can prevent this disease well. Drink more water and avoid getting angry. This way, you can stay away from mumps. Don’t be lucky. If you don’t pay attention, the disease will still come to you.
