Nursing and health care for children with pneumonia

Nursing and health care for children with pneumonia

Neonatal pneumonia is a lung disease with very complex causes. Many children will show symptoms of pneumonia, which harms the health of their lungs. Therefore, we need to pay attention to neonatal pneumonia. I believe that many parents are not aware of the disease of neonatal pneumonia, and do not know how to care for it in life. Let me introduce it to you below.

1. The room temperature should be kept at around 20°C

Relative humidity to prevent respiratory secretions from drying up and becoming difficult to cough out. Prevent cross infection.

2. Pay attention to nutrition and water supply

Breastfeeding should be done as much as possible. If bottle-feeding is used, the amount and concentration of milk can be determined according to the digestive function and condition of the child. If the child has diarrhea, skim milk should be given. For infants or children, a light, easily digestible diet rich in vitamins should be provided. Children in the recovery period should be given nutritious, high-calorie food. For critically ill children who cannot eat, intravenous infusion should be given to supplement calories and water.

3. Keep the airway open

Nasal crusts, nasal secretions and respiratory tract sputum should be removed in time. Improve ventilation function, increase alveolar ventilation, correct hypoxia, and reduce CO2 retention. For those with a lot of thin sputum, you can repeatedly turn over and pat your back to facilitate the discharge of sputum. You can also take oral expectorant drugs such as ammonium chloride mixture. For those with thick sputum that is difficult to cough up, you can suction the sputum or use ultrasonic atomization for inhalation.

It is recommended that parents should not neglect nursing while treating their children for neonatal pneumonia. This is very important for alleviating the child's condition. If the child's symptoms are serious, the child must be taken to the hospital for treatment in time, and nursing work should be strengthened. Attention should also be paid to the child's hygiene, and the room should be ventilated frequently.
